Les traductions nordiques du Cid de Pierre Corneille (XVIIe-XXe siècles). : Le choix de la forme poétique en l’absence d’une tradition de poésie dramatique

Abstract

The object of this article is to study, on a limited corpus, the formal research of the translators of French classical theatre in the Nordic countries and the solutions they had to invent in the absence of a corresponding poetic tradition in their target languages. It offers a comparative analysis of seven Nordic translations of Pierre Corneille’s Le Cid, particularly with regard to the selected poetic form.
